Who We Are The mission of the Hudson Valley New York Black Nurses Association is to provide a forum for collective action by black and brown nurses to represent and give a platform to advocate for and implement strategies to ensure access to the highest healthcare quality for persons of diverse ethnic black heritage and all communities. | Our Programs Committed to excellence in education, we conduct continuing education programs for nurses and allied health professionals throughout the Year. We provide scholarships for students and collaborate with private and public agencies/organizations that share common concerns for improving the health status of all people, particularly African descent and other minority consumers. | JOIN THE ASSOCIATION

Member Benefits Connection and Networking: Networking with African American nurses from around the country, and globally. You are connected to a larger group banded together to produce positive results for population health in our region. Conferences: Conferences provide quality education and networking for nursing professionals. The National Black Nurses Association hosts an Annual Institute and Conference in the summer of each Year. NBNA's Annual Institute and Conference features the most prominent nursing and healthcare speakers. Our local chapter, Hudson Valley New York Black Nurses Association, Inc. (HVNYBNA) host additional education and symposium. Public Policy / Advocacy: You can offer contribution to the strong advocacy programs centered on assuring that nurses voices are being heard. You can keep track of public, community, and population health issues under consideration by the State Legislature. Collaborate with Public Health advocates and lobbyist to advocate for priority health issues. Free Informational Services: The association keeps members in touch with each other and current issues through the website, social media, and email updates of emerging issues relevant to health.
