Our mission is to provide a forum for collective action by black and brown nurses to represent and give a platform to advocate for and implement strategies to ensure access to the highest healthcare quality for persons of diverse ethnic black heritage and all communities.
Committed to excellence in education and conducts continuing education programs for nurses and allied health professionals throughout the Year. The association provides annual scholarships for students. NBNA collaborates with private and public agencies/organizations that share common concerns for improving the health status of all people, particularly African descent and other minority consumers.
Our chapter members also benefit from NBNA's published Newsletter four times a year: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, and a Journal of NBNA twice a year: Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter. In addition, I participate in the Annual National Institute and Conference. The National Black Nurses Association hosts an Annual Institute and Conference in the summer of each Year. NBNA's Annual Institute and Conference features the most prominent nursing and healthcare speakers.

NBNA Lifetime Membership is $2,000.00 – payable in four installments over one year or a One-time payment of $2,000.00

NATIONAL CONFERENCE AND ACTIVITIES
The National Black Nurses Association hosts an Annual Institute and Conference in the summer of each Year. NBNA's annual institute and conference features the most prominent nursing and healthcare speakers. In addition, more than 100 exhibitors join us to offer their products, services, and employment opportunities. An attendance of over 1,200 NBNA members, student nurses, other health professionals, and guests participate in the week's events.
The four-day conference includes a one-day annual institute, offering 4-6 hours of intensive, concurrent educational programs in health promotion for African American males, child, and adolescent health, breast cancer, women's health, research, cardiovascular and obesity.
Other educational programs include presentations made by national health experts in a variety of health areas, including cancer; HIV/AIDS; menopause, and osteoporosis; nutrition; diabetes; health policy and health and healing; and roundtable discussions; a three-day exhibition featuring vendors from schools of nursing, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, publications, and equipment industries, hospitals and health systems, managed care organizations and insurance companies; and a host of networking and corporate sponsorship events.
Attendees will earn continuing education units for participating in the week's educational component. In addition, the schedule provides time for networking and attending social events around the city. NBNA Scholarships and awards are presented throughout the conference. The annual NBNA Community Health Fair and the President's Gala are highlights of the conference. Special NBNA member rates apply to all NBNA-sponsored conferences. Advertising opportunities are also available in our Conference Souvenir Program Book.
